Gardens and Growing !!!!
June 13 – 17
Ages 3 through 6
Our gardening program nurtures children’s understanding and love of nature and helps them develop skills and confidence to care for Mother Earth. Through a variety of activities in the ChildLight Garden, children learn how to grow a garden and how the gardens help them grow too.
Instructor: JoAnne Lafley is a horticultural therapist and master gardener. She has been working with the gardening program at ChildLight since 2006

Weather !!!!
June 20 – 24
Ages 4 through 6
Why are some days so sunny and beautiful and others cloudy and cold? We’ll solve that mystery by learning about clouds, humidity and air pressure. And we’ll have to do some kite flying to figure this one out!
Instructor: Arleen Howard has taught in our Montessori classroom since 1998 and serves as Head Science Instructor for our Kindergarten program.

Cooking!!!!
July 11 — 15
Ages 3 through 6
Travel South of the border or to Asia, have an English tea and see what’s tasty in Africa. The children will explore the world’s cultures through cuisine. They’ll bake, cook and share meals together. By the end of the week the children will have created their own cookbook and culinary experiences they can share with family and friends.

Movement and Music !!!!
July 18-22
Ages 4 through 6
Everybody get up and move. We’ll explore creative and set dances, choreography and games. Rhythm sticks, bean bags and scarves will help create awareness of timing, rhythm and tempo. With costumes the children will present a short group created
performance.
Instructor: Jen Weaver is a Head Teacher at ChildLight. Besides being a skilled culinary artist Jen was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study dance in Australia. She has worked in NYC with several choreographers and has taught dance to a wide range of ages.
